I believe East Providence should remain a community where young families can put down roots, longtime residents can afford to stay, and thoughtful growth preserves the character that makes our neighborhoods feel like home.

Affordable Housing & Cost of Living
The rising cost of housing is one of the greatest challenges facing East Providence today. Whether it's a young professional hoping to buy a first home, a growing family searching for more space, or a longtime resident hoping to remain in the neighborhood they've called home for decades, too many people are finding that the dream of living in East Providence is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve.
Housing affordability is not just a housing issue: it's an economic issue, a workforce issue, and a quality-of-life issue. When teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, young families, and our own children cannot afford to live in the communities they serve or grew up in, we risk losing the diversity, stability, and sense of community that make East Providence such a special place.
I believe we can address this challenge without sacrificing the character of our neighborhoods. That means encouraging responsible, well-planned development that expands housing opportunities while respecting the scale and identity of our existing communities. Growth should be intentional, infrastructure should keep pace with development, and residents should have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of their neighborhoods.
We must also look for practical, local solutions that help make homeownership more attainable, support responsible rental housing, and encourage investment that benefits both current and future residents. At the same time, we must be mindful of the rising property taxes and everyday costs that place increasing financial pressure on homeowners, renters, and seniors living on fixed incomes.
My goal is simple: to help ensure that East Providence remains a city where young families can build a future, longtime residents can afford to stay, and the next generation has the opportunity to call this community home. By planning responsibly today, we can preserve the neighborhoods we love while creating opportunities for tomorrow.
Transparency in City Spending
Taxpayers deserve to know not only how their money is being spent, but that it is being managed responsibly, transparently, and with their best interests in mind.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and auditor with experience auditing government entities, I have spent my career evaluating financial operations, strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance, and promoting accountability. My professional background has given me a deep understanding of how public funds should be managed and the importance of transparency in building public trust. I believe this experience provides a unique perspective that will allow me to ask informed questions, carefully evaluate financial decisions, and advocate for responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
Every budget decision should be guided by data, long-term planning, and a commitment to delivering meaningful value to residents, not by politics or short-term thinking. I will support budgets that are fiscally responsible, prioritize essential city services, and invest strategically in projects that strengthen our community while protecting taxpayers.
Good government isn't about spending more or spending less, it's about spending wisely. By bringing financial expertise and an independent, analytical approach to City Hall, I will work to ensure every taxpayer dollar is spent efficiently, effectively, and in a way that reflects the priorities of the people of East Providence.
Strong Neighborhoods & Quality of Life
A strong city is built one neighborhood at a time. Every resident deserves to live in a community that is safe, clean, welcoming, and well cared for—a place where families can thrive, children can play, and neighbors take pride in calling home.
Quality of life isn't defined by one major project. It's reflected in the everyday experiences of our residents: well-maintained parks and playgrounds, clean streets, dependable public services, safe neighborhoods, attractive public spaces, and prompt attention to community concerns. These are the things that shape how we experience our city and influence whether people choose to invest their lives and futures here.
I will advocate for continued investment in our parks, recreational facilities, sidewalks, and neighborhood infrastructure while supporting efforts to address blighted and nuisance properties that detract from our communities. I also believe City Hall should be responsive when residents report issues, because small problems left unaddressed often become much larger ones.
Strong neighborhoods are also built through community engagement. I'll support opportunities that bring residents together, strengthen local organizations, celebrate our diverse neighborhoods, and encourage civic participation. When people feel connected to their community, they become invested in its future.
The little things matter because they add up to something much bigger: neighborhoods where people feel safe, proud, and excited to call East Providence home.
Supporting Local Businesses & Economic Growth
Small businesses are the heart of East Providence. They're the family-owned restaurants where we celebrate milestones, the neighborhood shops we rely on, the contractors and professionals who keep our community running, and the entrepreneurs willing to invest their time, talent, and resources right here at home. These businesses don't just drive our economy—they create jobs, strengthen our neighborhoods, and help define the character of our city.
When local businesses succeed, everyone benefits. They create employment opportunities for our residents, attract visitors, generate revenue that supports essential city services, and contribute to a stronger commercial tax base. A healthy business community helps diversify our local economy and can reduce the financial burden placed on residential taxpayers over the long term.
As a City Council member, I will support thoughtful economic development that encourages investment while preserving the unique character of East Providence. We should be a city where entrepreneurs feel welcomed, established businesses have the support they need to grow, and new employers see East Providence as a place where they can succeed.
That means looking for ways to reduce unnecessary bureaucratic barriers, improve communication between City Hall and the business community, and ensure that our permitting and regulatory processes are efficient, transparent, and predictable. Businesses deserve a local government that is responsive, collaborative, and focused on solving problems—not creating them.
Economic development isn't just about attracting large projects. It's also about supporting the small business owner opening a first storefront, the family business expanding to hire more employees, and the local entrepreneur taking a chance on a new idea. Every successful business strengthens our community and creates opportunities for future generations.
By fostering a business-friendly environment while investing in our neighborhoods, infrastructure, and waterfront, we can create sustainable economic growth that benefits residents across every corner of East Providence. A thriving local economy means more opportunity, greater financial stability, and a stronger future for our city.
Independent Leadership You Can Trust
I made the decision decision to run because I believe East Providence deserves leaders who are willing to think independently, ask difficult questions, and put the interests of residents ahead of politics, personalities, or outside influence.
If elected, I will bring my own voice to the City Council. I won't arrive with predetermined positions or feel obligated to support an idea simply because it's popular, politically convenient, or backed by a particular group. Every issue deserves to be evaluated on its own merits, with careful consideration of the facts, the financial impact, and most importantly how it affects the people of Ward 2.
I believe good leadership requires more than casting votes. It requires listening to residents with an open mind, studying the details, seeking out different perspectives, and having the courage to ask the hard questions before decisions are made. Sometimes that means supporting an idea. Sometimes it means proposing improvements. And sometimes it means respectfully voting no. My responsibility will always be to the residents who elected me—not to political pressure or predetermined agendas.
You can count on me to be prepared, engaged, and willing to do the work. I'll read the reports, review the budgets, ask the follow-up questions, and make informed decisions based on evidence, sound judgment, and the long-term interests of our city.
Above all, I believe elected officials should earn the public's trust every day. That means leading with honesty, integrity, transparency, compassion, and common sense. It means being willing to explain my decisions, even when people may disagree with them, and remaining open to new information and thoughtful discussion.
I won't be a rubber stamp, and I won't make decisions based on politics alone. I'll make them based on what I genuinely believe is best for Ward 2 and the future of East Providence.
